A plan for a revitalised Broadmeadows

Broadmeadows Activities Area is set to become Melbourne's capital of the north over the next 20 years.  It has the potential to become a regional hub for offices and employment, supported by a mix of retail, leisure, learning, new housing and transport facilities.

Hume City Council and the State Government have a 20-year plan to sustainably manage growth and change in the Broadmeadows Activities Area.  The Broadmeadows Structure Plan was adopted by Hume City Council on 26 March 2012, after three years of preparation by the Department of Planning and Community Development and Hume City Council in consultation with the community.  The Plan sets out the long term vision for Broadmeadows.  It identifies potential land uses, building types and design, and defines precincts for particular use and development.

Consultation with the community and stakeholders on the Draft Broadmeadows Structure Plan was held from 2 November to 9 December 2011.  This phase of consultation followed two previous phases in what has been a three-year process to prepare the Broadmeadows Structure Plan.  The Phase 3 Consultation: Findings & Next Steps Report will be available shortly.
